A few tips on how to care for your Fauxsie Jewels:

As with diamond jewelry, contaminants like hard water and body oils can dull stones and metals over time. Fauxsie Jewels recommends that you get your jewelry cleaned professionally, by a fine jewelry professional who has proven experience in handling diamond simulants such as cubic zirconias, particularly when set into fine jewelry settings.

NOTE: you must advise your jewelry professional that your stones are not diamonds so that your jeweler can handle your jewelry appropriately. (If you cannot find a jeweler in your area experienced in working with cubic zirconias, please call us and we can try to help you).

If you cannot get your pieces professionally cleaned, you may gently cleanse your Fauxsie Jewels pieces with mild liquid soap (for example, a drop of VERY MILD liquid handsoap) and lukewarm water. (NOTE: cubic zirconias do not like sudden or extreme temperature changes so the water should neither be too hot nor too cold). You should see an immediate brightening effect of the stones, although please note the following:

  • At all times, handle your jewelry gently so as to minimize damage to your stone settings.
  • With earrings, stop the sink (so you don't lose them), take off the backs and wash them separately.
  • We absolutely do not recommend ultrasonic cleaners, polish cloths with any polishing cleaning material on them, or any other at-home cleaning methods/devices for your Fauxsie Jewels.
